GARLIC STIR FRY

I have searched far and wide for the perfect stir fry sauce, and this one right here is hands down the best one I’ve made. The sauce is courtesy of @themodernproper and then the rest is a choose your own adventure: pick your veggies, pick your protein. I didn’t have a wok, so I can vouch that this does work in a regular pan. BUT I imagine a wok would get that extra crisp on the shrimp.

THE SAUCE:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp chili sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
6 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp water

THE REST:
Your fave protein (I used shrimp)
Your fave veggies (I used peppers, asparagus and snap peas. I think broccoli, cauliflower, squash would also be good)
Sesame seeds and cilantro for topping

Combine sauce ingredients and set aside. In a wok or pan, heat olive oil. Add your veggies and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add in your protein. If using tofu or shrimp, I would suggest cooking that in a separate pan on high heat for a minute or 2 to get some crisp on the outside before throwing in with veggies. Cook for another 5 min or so. Add sauce to pan and cook until sauce thickens. Be patient if you feel like sauce is runny, it happens very quickly when it finally thickens. This level of thickness and flavor are what I think makes this sauce recipe so perfect. Enjoy!
